Is it time to retire it? Here are some industry guidelines to help you decide&nbsp;<strong>To Repair<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>To Replace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Replace if:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You just put costly repairs into it last year: and it requires more now<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s over 15 years old: it is starting to wear out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The air conditioning is less than 14 SEER: it is declared inefficient (14 SEER is current minimum)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It uses R-22 refrigerant: supply is limited and will not be replenished due to current regulation banning it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your energy bills keep increasing: the HVAC accounts for half of your utility bills.
